I would like to announce a Focus Session for the coming PIERS conference in Singapore.
Focus Session SC3: Hybrid Integration for Future Convergence of Photonics and Electronics
Organized by dr. Yuqing Jiao (TU Eindhoven) and dr. Di Liang (HP labs).
The session is now open for submission, and we sincerely welcome valuable contributions from you and your colleagues.
The deadline is 20th June 2017. Please indicate the session name and organizer name when submit.
Please also help us to forward this email to your colleagues.
Progress in Electromagnetics Research Symposium (PIERS) provides an international forum since 1989 for reporting progress and recent advances in the whole electromagnetic spectrum. Topics include radiation, propagation, diffraction, scattering, guidance, resonance, power, energy and force issues, and all other modern developments, with frequencies covering the entire electromagnetic wave spectrum (including microwave and lightwave, and beyond).
PIERS 2013 Stockholm (12-15 August) was a great success with 1650 paper submissions and 1135 registered/paid participants from 67 countries and many top-notch keynote/invited speakers of the areas. Since the Stockholm event, PIERS has become a big conference where microwave and lightwave communities meet. PIERS 2014 Guangzhou (25-28 August), PIERS 2015 Prague (6-9 July) and PIERS 2016 Shanghai (8-11 August) have over 2000 paper submissions and about 1400 registered/paid participants.
Programs for the past PIERS are available online at
PIERS Proceedings since 2016 will be submitted for archival in IEEE Xplore. Author of an accepted abstract is invited (but is not required) to submit an extended paper of 3 – 8 pages.
PIERS 2017 Singapore is technically co-sponsored by IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society.
=== Best Student Paper Awards ============
To encourage more students to present their good research results in PIERS, Best Student Papers will be awarded after their presentation in each PIERS. About 5 winners will be selected by a special committee. Each winner will receive 500 USD cash award and a banquet ticket to attend the Award Ceremony. Besides a winner (500 USD cash award), each subcommittee will also have 1-2 runner-ups for honorable mention. Each of them will receive a banquet ticket to attend the Award Ceremony.
