In the recent OSA IPR conference at New Orleans, we presented our latest development toward a InP-based nanophotonic platform. The paper was accepted as postdeadline paper, indicating that our work was recognized to have substantial impact on photonic integration field.
What we presented in this PDP paper is a high-performance SOA building block, integrated monolithically with passive building blocks to form a complete laser. Therefore we are able to demonstrate a novel platform with nanophotonic passive components and high-performance actives integrated in a single membrane layer.
